Straighten Up, Relax, Walk

You ever know when something is in the right place, but it doesn’t look entirely right? Like it needs to be straightened or polished or something?

Say you hang a picture on your wall.  You step back and realize it’s a little crooked. Then you re-adjust it so it looks right.

Well, right now my shoulders are like that: imbalanced. I don’t think most people notice it passing by, but my vocal instructor pointed it out on Monday that my left shoulder tends to be slightly lower than my right. And I have to shift my body a little to even it up.

You would think that it takes work to make it right, huh? But a lot of people around me say it’s not hard to fix.

Just straighten up, relax, and walk.

Simple.

Maybe that’s God’s funny way of reminding us how to walk with Him everyday. To walk tall and with confidence, knowing He is in control.  That our uneven lives are being straightened along the paths He went ahead and marked out for us.

Be encouraged.

Straighten up. Relax. Walk.

Heart Moms & Actions

When it was late at night on a weeknight, my mom tended to our wounded family member.

365 Day 130You see, our beloved family cat had gotten gravely ill.  He wouldn’t be the troublemaker he was, reminding us how life is not all hustle ‘n bustle. That life should be fun in our own ways, and it should be an adventure we’re looking forward to doing together everyday. But in his last days, it was hard to see him barely eat or drink anything. I saw my mom gently carried him to the faucet to drink some water. He was weak, but she was strong, wrapping comforting arms around his tired furry body and reminding him we’re still family though tough times.

My mom always said everyone deserves a healthy life and living it to the fullest. And she meant it with her heart and her actions.

Thank you Moms who love like this everyday for people everywhere.
